Stormy weather did not impede our journey to the World’s visit to the birthplace of furnishings that inspire those in the craft to not only express themselves artistically, but also to provide a medium to collectively “Bring It” for the buy and sell done in creative flair. This season was much more subdued than the last, but this lucky duck found more than one way to quack about this phenomenal show surrounding the launch[es] of all lovely and delicate things. However, there was also Market’s Heat... And its primary energy lit the wick of style. Parsons @ The Point on Commerce made a splash with regard to new buyers... Roller Bags and knapsacks 2.0. Media coverage for network lunch and the real purpose of the Market, launching new designers and their product lines. Example: Tamara Day in Market Square. So fun, lighting. Get this. Teeny-tiny, labeled jars and punch with short, multi-colored straws. Indicative of her work. Special and innovative.
Flower Magazine put on THE best introduction of The Howard’s Nellie Jane at Sherrill’s Showroom. It was fabulous! Her furnishings were so lovely and neatly designed. I began the affair with her florals and made my way to sausage quiche and fruit. Having taken a seat on her pastels, a cream romper must have been just the ticket as Flower took a photo of little old me for the mag and their Brunch Chronicles. I suppose that I also made the day in DKNY. As we all took in the bright and airy delight, I could think of nothing but my dream lake house. I would have Mr. And Mrs. Howard’s dine and living while Nellie Jane would make for the hideaways and guests to the kids’ creation featuring a boudoir in light blue and seashell. DIVINE! Well done Nellie Jane. A great party. Your parents must be proud.
Now for the Heat:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Unearthing my inner Gunilla Garson Goldberg, let me just tell it, Hunny.... OH! The Met took a sneak peek at our Greensboro’s White and Wood Restaurant for a closed party celebrating what was to be at HPMKT as art, love and the collective of new ideas over three courses of style only replicated in their inspired pieces to come.
First Course: The Wendover Art Group
Yes! From The Met’s ceramics, bronzes, sculptures and paintings brought the price of local art: A couple of Stella Artois with a gallery rep and a press ticket. Crostini and rare beef with snow peas stuffed with crème fraiche. Yes baby! One-of-a-kind paintings inspired by these relics recreated for your home. Its significance reminded by the art of its creativity. So excited for a gallerist named Al to see the importance of taking a few home discovering the truism of its purpose: THE SELL!
The Main: A Signature by Eichholtz
Eichholtz stunned again with the greatest party one could wish for. The Reveal: A collabo between The Met and Eichholtz for a fall launch of newly inspired furnishings. Smoked salmon, yogurt, cucumber and dill with white wine.... We novice photogs snapping shots of Eichholtz’ showroom towards a Trip to Paris. We walked with egg rolls, beef and a cheese art noted tempura shrimp. Perrier for the non-drinker with The Dutchess making an arrival the preceding day as signature.
Dessert: Player's Patio
We took our backstage passes (the patio behind the stage) for a sunset with the greatest performers EVER! Center Stage lit up with Doug E. Fresh and 80s-90s hits Killed. Chris Janson joined the party the next night. A peep show week made for the time of a life. Couple that with Prosecco with The Met's curators, a twilight Starry Night. To Fresh and Janson's credit, we must Gogh. Our old-school jam art and modern hitmaker stole The Show.
Dinner plans at 9pm at White and Wood ended my stay of HPMKT to candidly chat with my favorite person Jake about the week where he gave me a great start and I an email of the piece that sold by Wendover Art Group about his special client. To the premise, when I found a day well spent, the finale was Brussels with dried cranberries, walnuts, parm and bacon; salmon with I believe some sort of beurre blanc, red cabbage and polenta; and olive oil cake with a nice red.
