Family... What’s better? Some would say ‘Everything Else,’ but in our hearts we know that there is nothing greater in North Carolina than our family Ingles to the largest number of market black-owned farms to Greensboro’s own farm at Guilford College. That provides our Deep Roots with the freshest produce since 1976 given by the week. Now since, with the beautiful location that we see in Greensboro’s Downtown Elm Street, we are circling back to how we spend our DOLLAR, DOLLAR, DOLLAR BILLS YALL! Our trend is becoming economically conscious from the wealthy to our community rich individuals. Fair trade on coffee, coconut oil, etc. Hence, what we call a circle economy, being aware of how our dollars affect everything.
Hunny... And wait until you see the Honey, Hunny. Rice for the Tossing. And Oats for the Wheat in demeanor. Bulk and Choice. Seedless watermelon was my delight on my visit and plantains less the ethic market. My basket also had fresh mango, bagged spinach and brown eggs. My partner in crime went for the herbal supplements. My only regret, I forgot my Tony Chocoloney... I hear that Nestle cannot compete. On my day, beets were the charm directly from the farm at Guilford College where Deep Roots began in the 60s. Truthfully, it was a dormitory vegetarian buying club.
But, more seriously, Deep Roots is a Co-Op cooperatively and confidently here. As such, they have a Board of Directors, 4000 owners that work democratically putting People Before Profits according to the most enthusiastic woman in the Greater Greensboro Area among grocers, manager Nicole Villano. Get this. For $100, anyone can own Deep Roots with benefits for life.

Now Let’s Tap the Roots
Like most reward programs, with TapRoots, you earn points, one for a great dollar spent. I admit. I am not a couponer. However, double points on locally grown items for TapRoots victims is awesome... Our Hearts Still Swell With Gladness again for another one of our glories. Owners as LIMe members get double. This foundation grows our ability to save. OKAY, I LIKES TOO BOOGIE so a dollar spent mean two in the purse. And... This is on every purchase that is earth-friendly: Fair Trade, Packaging-free Bulk, Cooperatively Produced, B-Corp and Local! And... Extra points when you bring back you reusable bags and jars.
Now, Why We Love LIMes
Strength and resiliency from our TapRoots apply to this to this program making our communities richer with accessibility to great food wares. It’s a 20% everyday discount to LIMe members once they prove a up need with a small fee. We grow our limes when patrons round up to the nearest dollar or more at the register. So, at Deep Roots we join the army of the economically conscious eating locally, bewaring slave trade mechanisms with great partnerships, owning where we shop, benefitting our community and saving to our fridge. One phrase, ‘Deep Roots is Worth It!’
