Summer: Greensboro's Celebration of it's First Official Day

What is Summer Solstice? Not minding any religious undertaking, it is determined to be a pagan holiday to celebrate Spring’s official departure and Summer’s arrival. The first Mid-Summer Night’s Dream of the year... For me, it’s a return to my most special time of year; June 20th Summer Solstice 2024, my birthday, which makes this year particularly special. So, at high noon Thursday... the Sun will be at its highest elevation for the year’s entirety. Talk about a great lunch. I may do just that...

Summer Solstice Festivals bring out everything that I’ve always wanted to do... Have magical powers and wear costumes, particularly fairy ones. So, I’ll take out my wings and body art for one day to enjoy the jugglers and flame throwers. Those other fairies, young and old, who get it bring out their dust for the spell. However, those with an inner glow highlight the day with nobles and common men alike as our magic spreads to infect the spirit as we sing in one true tune of harmony and love.

To Jest! The coming of the Sun yields a great time in Greensboro, North Carolina. A great party and family fun; hence, it’s 20th anniversary this year. A festival 2.0 with multi-staged bands, dancers, and ... vending and food trucks. A jazzy fade into sunset on a blanket have made years past festivals THAT hoppin.

Oh Yeah! Jamilla’s Apple has enjoyed it since our launch in 2021. It’s really a good time with all the bells and whistles and yes... costumes. So, fairies, druids, nymphs, and commoners, join your kind and bring your inner magic on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Greensboro Arboretum and Lindley Park from 2pm-10pm. Admission $10. Children Under 12 Free.
